Conda support is still work in progress for Dependabot:
dependabot/dependabot-core#2227

So at the moment we use additional requirements.txt files to be informed when a package is updated. Obviously this does not work for packages exclusively for conda, like the simulation codes S/PHI/nX and LAMMPS.
