Hey Guys!

I just installed my motion rig with SimTools. I also have other apps like SimHub running and SRS fans app.
I shut down steam/steamVR and installed the exe file installer. All of a sudden I had errors starting to pop up that mentioned SimHub and SimTools in it. Then ALVR failed on me (which I used for my oculus quest). Then, I started SteamVR back up and it would only go into safe mode. I couldnt go back into regular mode either. It would keep going back into safe mode after restarting SteamVR.

I uninstalled OpenVR-InputEmulator and it worked fine.

Has anyone had a similar issue like this and knows what to do?

Peripherals/Specs I'm using:
Valve Index, 3 base stations, PT-Actuators 4-DOF
HPP Pedals with Vibration motors attached, Fanatec DD2, SRS Fans, Buttkicker.
8700K @ 4.8, 2080Ti FE, 32gb ram, m.2 SSD
Running SimTools, SimHub, SRS Wind app, among some others.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Hi

Let's try something that worked for me today
1- Close Steam VR
2- Uninstall OpenVR-InputEmulator
3- Erase the content left here: C:\Program Files\OpenVR-InputEmulator
4- Reinstall OpenVR-InputEmulator V1.3
5- Back up the file 00vrinputemulator that you'll find here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers
6- Remove the file 00vrinputemulator from : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers
7 - Download that file #143 (comment) (driver_vrinputemulator_release_hopefully.zip)
8 - Unzip it and copy the entire file ''driver_vrinputemulator'' there: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers
9 - Restart steam and try steam VR
10- You should have no more safe mode error

If it doesn't work then try all that again but at step 7 change for that file
#130 (comment) (I don't remember which one I have tried but let us know)

Hope for you it will work

I got it fixed with a switch of the .dll file. Now it works fine but I tried it once by zip tying my vive wand to the back of my seat. I have 3 base stations. 1 is pointing downwards from the ceiling to the back of my seat, so there's a clear view from 1 base station to the vive wand that i place there.

The motion compensation was working but it moved the view way too much on a track like Laguna Seca in iRacing. As I was going up/down the hill, the view was changing so much that it was blocking my actual view of the track with either the dashboard of the car or the roof (because of the angle it was leaning everything). Also there was some slight drifting happening

What could this be? I thought I zip tied it hard enough not to move behind the seat also. It seemed pretty sturdy. Should I have placed it in view of more than 1 base station maybe?

What are you using for the motion compensation ?

At the end of july I started having problems with my tracker and I got flood of water by my neighbor so I stop to use my rig until the beginning of september.
When I started to re use it, there was driftting problems with the tracker.

So all that to tell that yesterday, I made a lot of tests and I discovered that I have now to fix my tracker on a black background to make it work as well as before. I only use 2 base and it work well even if sometimes one is hiden depending the rig postion (while in motion)

The lighthouses had a lot of diffficulty to see the tracker and then when they saw it, probably the reference point of when I enabled the motion compensation drift enought to make more than twice the compensation while in the game.

I hope that this can help you

Im using a 2018 Vive wand. Maybe it wasnt mounted well enough. I bought a 3d printed vive wand mount to see if it helps. I'll place it somewhere else on my rig and see if it changes anything
