Environment

  • Windows build number: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.778]
  • PowerToys version: v0.18.0
  • PowerToy module for which you are reporting the bug (if applicable): PowerToys Run

Steps to reproduce

  • Try to set the shortcut to F13 or any single key value like A

Expected behavior

For the shortcut to be set to F13 which is being mapped from Win + Space -> F13 with AutoHotkey.

Actual behavior

The input changes to show F13 but then switches to Undefined when focus is lost. The same happens when I try any key or combo other than the following:

  • Caps Lock
  • Ctrl + Space
  • Alt + Space
  • Shift + any other key

I've been using this same setup with Wox without issue, but I don't seem to be able to set it here. I need Alt + Space left alone because Windows constantly moves my applications off screen and the only way to get them back is by using Alt + Space to get the popup menu in the top left corner of the screen.

A single key shortcut would be incredibly useful. I'm used to using F2 within apps for this kind of "quick launch command bar" like in Vivaldi and VS Code, and would love to set F1 to be my "global" command - I never use help pages with are normally set to F1 anyway.

Having to press a multi-key shortcut feels awkward and very much slower than just pressing the windows button, which is an annoyance.

This is being tracked by #2325 which is the larger work item.
