Repro Steps

  1. Launch WSL
  2. Ping any IP address or use network connectivity. It works as expected.
  3. Hibernate or leave the computer for a period of time.
  4. Ping any IP address or use tools that access the network. No connections are established.

Expected Behavior

Network connectivity should continue to function as normal after hibernation or sleep.

Actual Behavior

Network connectivity no longer works after hibernation or sleep.

Wireshark Capture

What was interesting about the wireshark capture is that even in the broken state, where WSL was experiencing connectivity issues, wireshark was still seeing the ICMP reply from 1.1.1.1
That appears as if the vEthernet switch is not properly passing the NAT traffic back to WSL
