shfmt config file?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there's a ways to customize how shfmt formats the code, like a .shfmt file or something like that? I find that it's very opinionated about case statement formatting.

Here's how I want my code to look:

while getopts ":I:i:s:v:" opt; do
        case "${opt}" in
            i ) indent_amount="$OPTARG" ;;
            I ) indent="$OPTARG" ;;
            s ) indent_str="$OPTARG" ;;
            v ) local -n caller_var_ref="$OPTARG" && write_to_caller_variable=true ;;
            : ) log::Error "Option '${OPTARG}' expects an argument." && return 1 ;;
            \? ) log::Error "Invalid option: ${OPTARG}" && return 1 ;;
        esac
done

But this is how it's being formatted:

                return 1

done

Is this possible with shfmt?

Your first code block does not get formatted as the second, as long as you don't replace && with ;.
