Appears that #71 was just the tip of the iceberg; when joining a server, the GUI root gets destroyed on the client, but not on the server. Ref: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=50055.

Not sure what I can do about this one. Probably nothing.

In fact, Rseding91 (no @ to avoid a random ping) fixed it for 0.15.23 already. So, um, update your Factorio if you're affected by this.
