• nearcore:
  • JSON RPC Structured Errors: a refactoring to query refactor(jsonrpc): Add structured errors to query method in ViewClient and RPC #3944 (@khorolets) is almost done (on its last review iteration)
  • JSON RPC timeouts are now logged (WARN logging level) feat(jsonrpc): Add warn log to jsronrpc methods where time out can happen #3969
• indexer-for-explorer: nearcore compilation errors on Indexer implementations were resolved (@khorolets)
• meta: Indexer tutorial is on its way to be merged!

Plans

• nearcore:
  • Keep working on the structured errors in the view-client: broadcast_tx_* endpoints (@khorolets)
  • Guard query(view_state) JSON RPC endpoint rejecting the calls to the accounts with "big" state (storage usage > N bytes) Reject view_state JSON RPC requests for big accounts #3950 (@frol)
  • resolve the tests not failing due to the recent major dependencies (@frol)
• near-api-js: proof-of-concept design for the structured errors is under discussions with partners (@volovyk-s)
• indexer: public API refactoring in order to simplify our Indexer tutorial (@khorolets)
• meta: Series of posts on Indexer Framework are in the works (@khorolets)

Discussions

• broadcast_tx_commit timeouts are by design, and we should properly set expectations, that clients can re-send the request again with the same transaction and it won't create a new transaction on the network, so it essentially works as a long-polling operation returning you a result as soon as it has it and you just need to reinitiate the long-polling every 10 seconds
