NGDS Central-- 'add your own geothermal analysis tool' option #607
Comments
On that note, I think I'll add a line of text at http://testportal.geothermaldata.org/data/develop which makes it explicit that even if you join the development communities, there are some places you can post your tools and you should contact NGDS admin to have their work showcased on the site... |
For what it's worth, I don't think that message needs a new page, I think it could get away with a line or two on the current page. Is there a way to add a text box so it stands out a little? Would that be a solution? |
yes, adding a link to the existing list should be sufficient. Stephen Richard Chief Geoinformatics Section Arizona Geological Survey 416 E. Congress #100, Tucson 85745 [email protected]:[email protected] 520-209-4127 |
How about some text in the sidebar on both pages? It will appear above the "Contributors & Web Developers." |
We already have some categories in our contact form that may meet the needs so we don't have to create a new category. Let me know if one of these work out for you. If you want to add any email address. Existing categories on our contact forms: "NGDS Tools" |
I think "Register an application for use with NGDS" and separately "Technical questions" should be separated. This is good, but not quite what Arlene was asking for. Additionally. we should add something on the sidebar or the Geothermal Analysis Tools page - I was thinking a new, small section on that page to tell people what they needed to do to register a new application. Without seeing it, I think this would be less cluttered than having more text on the sidebar. |
I can create a "Add your own geothermal analysis tool," I just wanted to see if one of the existing ones would work. Let me know who should be recipients of the messages. Can you give me the copy you want to add for the Geothermal Analysis Resources page? I can put it into the sidebar (with the new contact form link) to see if you like it there and then move it if it gets too cluttered. |
Learn how to add your own geothermal analysis tool
From the Tools and Applications page 'Geothermal Analysis Tools', Arlene commented that it is unclear how you can add your own tool of this type (different from custom applications, which refers really to GIS apps). Could we then add another page to the list at:
Should we add a new page called
Named "Add your own geothermal analysis tool"
OR should we just add a new text section to the Geothermal Analysis Tools page to indicate that you'd contact the NGDS admin through an email address or the Contact Us if you have a similar tool to add to the site?
