all size comes from fetch-blob that started using spec compatible streams from web-streams-polyfill
(node-fetch will depend on web-streams-polyfill as well at some point)

blocked by:

    • some recently merged PR to work with public interface rather than using core methods

MattiasBuelens have already released a v4 alpha that have reduced the size significantly. but i guessing he wants to resolve #20 first and include it v4 stable (cuz it might have some breaking changes) if you want to shim in then this is probably the issue you want to follow/help out with
