Angular: Slide width on click

I'm working with swiper on an Angluar 11 project. What I'm trying to do is when a slide is clicked it increases that specific slides width so that "additional details" section can be displayed. I did try using the slideToClickedSlide but it had no effect so maybe that doesn't work well with angular yet. Has anyone had any experience doing something like this before? I've tried searching elsewhere and in the discussion but didn't see what I was looking for.
