When applying a placeholder attribute, the text of the placeholder gets the text-security font and thus is not readable.
A solution is to restore the placeholder's font using additionnal css, as described here
.my-password-field::placeholder { font-family: [original_font_name]; } .my-password-field:-ms-input-placeholder { font-family: [original_font_name]; } .my-password-field::-ms-input-placeholder { font-family: [original_font_name]; }
Note that setting font-family:inherit won't work for the placeholder.
