Hi @nunit/engine-team,

I'd like to get a beta version for 3.12 out next week. I want to do a beta, as I'm hoping it will be the first release including the .NET Core Console.

I've moved everything out of the 3.12 milestone that won't be sorted in time - please add in anything else you'd like to get into the next release. There have been two bugs included that have been reported with 3.11.1 and I think we should at least investigate/sticking-plaster - if anyone's got some time to look at either of those, I'd appreciate the help! 😄

Thanks all! 👍

I'm going to need to postpone the beta release, the packaging for the .NET Core console needs more time than I thought. Will try and get back to this next week.

The Beta release is now out! Available on GitHub, NuGet and Choco.

Note there's no Beta msi release, as I was concerned that the beta versioning may not be respected when it comes to updating with the final release.

I'm particularly keen for people to test the new .NET Core Console, and running on mono with this beta release. Please let us know about any issues!

It would also be great if those who maintain runners could try out the beta release of the engine, and let us know about any problems. Tagging in @OsirisTerje, @CharliePoole, @NikolayPianikov and @estrizhok.

Based on the issues found with the .NET Core console beta release, (#806), I'm not planning on releasing v3.12 without the .NET Core console. Contributions to help fix the dependency loading issue would be very welcome - that's the main issue preventing the release, in my eyes.

I'll also be backing out #802, which we believe has caused #807 in the beta release. This means #800 will remain unfixed - I'll review all changes to the API assembly, to see if we can mitigate any of the affects for the next release.

Update: The 3.12 release is currently held up pending resolution of some high priority extension-loading problems, which have only recently become apparent. Whilst these issues were detected through the Beta .NET Core console, they will potentially affect all extension users, so we're keen to resolve before the next release.
