I would like a way to have Drive only run the export of GoogleDoc (and GoogleSheet) files to ODF files, but not copy down any other files in my Google Drive. Essentially I just want to have local backups of Google Docs usable within LibreOffice, and the remainder of the files I already have local copies of.
I tried creating a ~/.driveignore file with a single entry of "*", but it didn't work. A cleared-out google-drive-sync directory re-downloaded all the non GDoc files, and re-created all the .desktop entries.

There are examples in the README file. You’ll need to do pattern matching to match the file type and export only the file type you want to export. It’s possible but I think you need to read through the readme file. It’s been a while that I used drive but this is possible for what you need I believe.
