Welcome to the ODPi wiki! Here you can learn more about the project, what we release, and how to contribute.

What is ODPi?

ODPi is an effort led by Hadoop distros, application vendors, and end users in the Hadoop ecosystem for building a standard specification for Hadoop distros to adhere to. You can learn more about it at http://odpi.org.

The ODPi current produces two specifications:

What ODPi produces?

Each Approved Software Platform Release from ODPi has the following:

We have a defined release process and schedule, and publish all our assets publicly for anyone to use.

Validating ODPi compliance

Hadoop distributions can learn more about certifying if they are compliant at (https://github.com/odpi/self-certification-reports). Application vendors and end-users can also visit that repo to see which distributions are reporting being ODPi compliant.

How to participate

You can participate in the ODPi efforts by either giving feedback on the spec, or providing tests for validating ODPi compliance.

ODPi has corporate sponsorship opportunities available if your organization is interested. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Joining the conversation

You can join the conversation by subscribing to the mailing list at:

Governance

The ODPi is managed by the Linux Foundation as a part of it's Collaborative Project program. The technical community is led by a 7 person Technical Steering Committee, while the release management is governed by a cross-functional team represented from the community and members. There are additionally PMCs dedicated to the Operations and Runtime spec for guiding it's development.

You can learn more about these groups at the links below.
