upcoming terminology issue: balanced.sum vs balanced.avg #290

balanced.sum and balanced.avg - which one is expected ...

with the advent of log-binned expected and such we started to use term expected quite interchangeably between balanced.sum vs balanced.avg

this might lead to some documentation issues and such - just wanted to leave if here before we forget
