If I set a property of a z-wave thing, I get the following exception. It the same for all my devices and it's independent of the UI (PaperUI, HABmin)

I believe this issue was already fixed with this pull request.

I was getting this same NULL pointer exception. I was reading through some other issues and saw it was resolved in the current 2.2 release. I updated to OH and ZWave 2.2 and can confirm the NULL pointer exception went away for me. However, I am getting a different issue now Issue 797.

Please consider trying the development version of the binding as fixes are currently going into this branch with a view to merging this to master soon.

@cdjackson How long is "soon"? Or can you tell me how I can use the jar-file of the development version?

Please refer to the link above - it says how to use the dev version.

Looks like I'm having the same problem as OP. I'm unable to set config on my Home Energy Meter.
I am currently running a pretty fresh dev snapshot:
openhab> bundle:list | grep ZWave
213 │ Active │ 80 │ 2.3.0.201802052244 │ ZWave Binding

This is a very short log which has no debug information. I also don't think it's from the development version.

According to the link above, the latest development version is dated 21st January so I'm pretty sure you are not using that based on your file dated 5th Feb.

@cdjackson Thanks. I thought that a newer version would have to be a dev version. I will install the latest dev build, and if it still fails, I'll post longer logs with debug.

@cdjackson I installed the dev build, and I am now able to set config parameters. I am however not able to read out Watts from my energy meter... It just reports 0. I've tried unlinking and deleting the thing and re-adding it but nothing works... Could you take a glance at my logs? If you give me some steps to follow, I can do that and create another log.

There are lots of meter readings - some report values, and some 0. It looks like the device is reporting 0 though -:

You can use the log viewer to view the logs yourself if you want to take a look. From the entries I've looked at, the binding is working fine.

Closing as there doesn't seem to be an issue with the binding. If there is further information, please reopen.
