Hi everyone,
In GitHub's left hand/menu sidebar there is a Repositories subsection which links to various repositories you have worked on/contributed to. However it is unclear how this selection is populated, and often it is dominated by unhelpful suggestions. For example right now 2 of the 5 suggested repositories for myself are those that have been archived and are no longer actively developed:
For my personal case this is exacerbated by the fact that for business reasons we created fresh versions of some of these repositories when we made them open source in order to sanitise the commit and issue history. So I find myself constantly accidentally navigating to the old archived versions of those repositories because GitHub navigation suggests that in preference to the actively developed repository.
It would be nice if GitHub was a bit more intelligent about what it suggests in that section, e.g. exclude Archived repositories by default, or even better allow users to control what repositories appear there.
For comparison there is already a feature in the GitHub mobile application you can mark a repository as a Favourite, a similar mechanism for controlling the website sidebar repository suggestions would be much appreciated e.g.
