Variable naming

The naming is awful - ff, aa dd. How are you guys navigating through this? Some a/dd are variable abbreviations which is ok, but some has no sense at all. This is super hard to understand some parts of the app.

Just an example rr = make([]string, 0, len(r.functions)) - what does this variable means?)
