Hi all,
Apologies this was circulated on the EdgeX mailing lists and social media, but not on this forum until now...
You may know that the EdgeX Technical Steering Committee (TSC) is decided on an annual basis, and that the current TSC membership is due to be reviewed at the end of this month.
The role of the TSC is to help steer and push the project in the right direction technically, and to ensure it delivers what it needs to in terms of quality and features etc - all while maintaining its values of open-source collaboration.
EdgeX is of course an open project so I would like to encourage all users and stakeholders in EdgeX to consider if and how they would like to be involved in the project management for the next term.
The TSC is generally comprised of technical EdgeX Working Groups with Chairs and Co-chairs, but also a number of “At-Large” members who are able to take a more generalist approach on the committee. The At-Large role is a good way to step into the EdgeX voting community, but without the commitment of leading a specific working group. We typically have online meetings every 2 weeks but members are free to focus on specific items as their interest and time allows. On a more personal level, we are a friendly and collaborative team of people from around the world, and as well as potential career growth, it can also be very rewarding to know you are helping a global project continue to expand and move with current technology trends etc.
There is a process to elect people onto the TSC, but in the first instance please let me know any interest you or your organization has in helping to drive the direction of the project going forward and ensuring it meets your organization’s needs and so on. I can also answer any questions.
Please let me know interest ASAP. Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,
James Butcher
EdgeX TSC Chairman
