Is Vue dying?

It's interesting to see Vue slowly dying (at least from my perspective) as its release schedule has been laughable lately.

But why?

Every software project reaches a stable point where updates slow down.

• If you are missing features, write issues for them.
• If you are missing plugins or other third-party tooling, write it yourself or ask the community
• If you want to switch frameworks, don't make such a big deal out of it. There are many great frameworks, libraries and tools in the javascript ecosystem (and even more in the general web ecosystem) and you don't have to feel sorry for not feeling like Vue is the solution to your specific problems.

PS. Please don't write clickbait titles. We have enough of that crap online. Your title could easily have been "why has the release schedule slowed down?"

Wasn't there a promise after v3.3. was released on how we'll get more frequent and smaller releases?

You are right there was a statement released on that to move to more of an agile process. Not certain what happened but I remember reading about it. Possibly smaller pull requests could be packaged up every 2 weeks and released. That is what we do for customers on commercial projects.

Vue team 🙌 focuses on many open-source projects¹ so everyone can benefit from it even outside of Vue, This causing the release schedule to slow down

I wasn't happy with the current state of web development, so I decided to write a completely new ecosystem from scratch. I went back to the "good old days", and took advantage of innovations like progressive enhancement, separation of concerns, and semantic web design. The result is a powerful alternative to frameworks like Vue, React, and Svelte as well as toolchains like Vite, Next.js, and Astro.

Nue ecosystem is work-in-progress, but Nue JS is already ready for public. It's an extremely small (2.3kb minzipped) JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It's like React or Vue, but there are no hooks, effects, props, or other unusual abstractions on your way. Know the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and you can build server-side components and reactive interfaces with ease.

All projects will be released under the MIT license.

I saw it. Uses multiple files like Angular instead of SFC which is a hard no for me. Needs an $emit API too.

That is good will make it more popular. I see emits as events or messaging in apps. It has always felt cleaner to me than passing in a callback.
