TIFF images are showing broken in picture preview. This is because actual tiff images will not be converted from owncloud to a browser compatible format and browsers can not display tiff images.
same here in 6.0.2.
as far as i can see the complete folder preview is broken for folders containing .tif, e.g.:
filesize(): stat failed for /var/www/owncloud/data/USER/gallery/USER//Shared/BAL/BLU/BR9B93~1 end.square.tif at /var/www/owncloud/apps/gallery/lib/thumbnail.php#98
i agree, if the browser doesn't support tiff image, it's better for you to convert tiff to other image formats, or you can set your own image web viewer to display tiff image.
A workaround would be welcome. In my field we often use tiff images for publication and it is important to be able to share them. It is ok if no preview is available, but when I send the file to someone there is a great chance he will try to click on it and the preview will be lauched but never ending giving the impression that the server is broken.
A perhaps simple workaround would be to not consider tiff as images and so do not launch preview. Is that possible?

A possible solution would be convert to a viewable format

Is there a possibility for you to add this to owncloud?
