Either thru settings in gallery.cnf or an overlay button when showing the optimized scaled down image. Of course I'm open to other solutions, too. Right now the gallery app is not really useful to me.

You can already download the image if you need to get more pixels that your screen can show and there is another issue listing other solutions for people who want to zoom in: #193
