This issue concerns only ownCloud Online.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set a custom branding via account settings
  2. Log in as guest user

Expected behaviour

Guest users should be able to use ownCloud as expected. Custom Branding should applied.

Actual behaviour

Guests cannot login, cannot use several apps, custom branding ist not applied

Solution

Custom branding is provided by the ownCloud Online specific self-service-app (oco_selfservice). It needs to be added to the guests whitelist.
