text boxes not adjusting to screen size in edit mode

In Item edit mode, the description text box doesn't adjust with adjustment of browser window width. So when the window is narrow, some of the text is not visible or editable

Using Mozilla if I narrow the browser window on my PC laptop, I can't edit all of the text in the description field for an item that has a large amount of text in that field - SINM-EM005 for example.

The HTML/CSS in that page could be improved. However, as a workaround, if the browser window is narrow before the page is loaded, are the fields the correct width?

yes, then the fields are the correct width

The screen does not resize properly. The left hand text boxes and map take up too much space and should be made proportional sized perhaps? See attached screenshot (in Chrome)

a screenshot from my mobile device (android, chrome) yesterday. It often seems to be the map that doesn't re-size corrently and spills out across the other page areas adjacent
