There is a npm module here https://github.com/jergason/intimidate that wraps Knox, the s3 library I am using to automatically retry failed uploads. I don't have time to work on it now but if you want to give it a try PR are greatly appreciated :)

Curious how often do S3 uploads fail?

I get failures all the time, or rather have to re-run the script because it fails to catch differences. I usually run it on average 3 times, or until all files show 'cache' status.

+1, I started to get errors almost about 80% of the time when a bucket grew up (783.5 MB, 2,347 files)
