This year I worked to build a preliminary phenotype ontology for a clade of plants. I referenced the Phenoscape wiki a great deal, as well as numerous publications from Phenoscape and beyond. However, I'm still unsure if I structured my ontology in a way that could scale up.
I think it would be valuable to formalize some of the methods and structure behind Phenoscape.
Eg.--
-- Explicitly showing how EQ statements are modeled in an ontology and associated with a particular species.
Specifically: Which axioms are used?
--- Also, uses of individuals vs. classes in different situations.
-- Is it possible to incorporate numerical data? Eg. the length of a petal
-- Incorporating homology statements
