Interpreter details:

Describe the issue:

The LaTeX renderer ignores the $ symbol (to start an inline LaTeX expression) when it immediately follows another character.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Create a markdown field. Any LaTeX expression immediately following another character will not be rendered, e.g. kg m$^{-3}$ does not render, but kg m $^{-3}$ does.

Expected or desired behavior:

An expression like kg m$^{-3}$ should render as LaTeX.
