premake to create a makefile for mingw

So basically im using wsl to compile/build my program for windows, using a makefile (well that's the plan), I just want to make sure with you guys that I'm not missing anything using premake, the command I'm using is premake5.exe --os=windows --cc=mingw gmake2, if I'm not missing anything, ill look elsewhere to why its not compiling.
