Support for running shell commands

Hi!

I'm working on migrating a project (holoviz/panel) to using hatch and it seems that it doesn't have a built-in support for running shell commands. I've seen that other projects support that like e.g. pdm, poethepoet. There may be some good reasons as to why hatch doesn't support that? If not, I'm happy to start by opening a proper feature request!

The execution of shell commands is a core feature, what do you mean?

Is it possible to create a named script eg. fetchdata in pyproject.toml that does curl xyz?

Compare to pdm shell script

I am coming from javascript and I find it very useful to be able to configure and run any scripts (and starting processes) in the same place and way (package.json) regardless the language

edit: in fact scripts in Hatch as a feature predates PDM's 😉
