The new version of the tasks using the old node 6 execution handler are now released (3.9.1 and 4.1.1)

If anyone else is sitting wondering when their local TFS will install the update... go to here /tfs/_gallery/manage and you can manually update to the new version (4.2.1) which you can download from https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=qetza.replacetokens
