Image uploads don't appear until explicitly downloaded

Description

Image uploads don't appear in the timeline until explicitly downloaded. Clicking to open in an external viewer shows an error

Failed to open URI
Error when getting information for file "/tmp/quaternion....": No such file or directory.

Steps to reproduce

• Upload an image via either copy&paste into the text field, or via the attachment.
• Note the image does not appear in the timeline widget
• Click on the blank field where the image should be.

Error appears as above. Same error appears in the log.

I'm not sure if this is a Quaternion bug or a libQuotient bug, so reporting it to Quaternion, since it's the UI.
