The Jokes App Tutorial page is over 18MB in size and took 38.3s to fully load when testing in Firefox Devtools with "Regular 4G / LTE" throttling option. 17.8MB of the page is taken up by images that can be further compressed with little to no impact on visual quality.
We can convert all png images to WebP file format, which according to caniuse.com is available to ~95% of users globally, not to mention people visiting remix documentation will be even more likely to have up to date browsers.
I have converted the biggest image on the page, app-level-error.png to webp, achieving following results:
marcel@DESKTOP-P5VQLO1:/mnt/c/Users/Marcel/Desktop/remix$ ls -hl
total 1.5M
-rwxrwxrwx 1 marcel marcel 1.1M Aug 20 19:20 app-level-error.png
-rwxrwxrwx 1 marcel marcel 106K Aug 20 19:26 app-level-error.webp
-rwxrwxrwx 1 marcel marcel 60K Aug 20 19:28 app-level-error_75.webp
-rwxrwxrwx 1 marcel marcel 272K Aug 20 19:31 app-level-error_lossless.webp
Optimistically assuming ~1:10 compression ratio for the rest of the images, we will be able to decrease the size of all images from 17.8MB to 1.78MB, and the size of the complete page from 18MB to 2.2MB.
I'd make a PR, but it looks like the images are hosted elsewhere.
