I used CockroachDB extensively at Mux. To my knowledge it doesn’t support the indexes and SQL access patterns we’re using in River, or if it does they would be highly discouraged. A lot of the work involved in making River work well is also going to be deeply Postgres specific.

For now I would say this is something we cannot support, sorry!
