Banana Cream Pie
Ingredients

Crust
-----
40 Nilla Wafers
1 tbsp dark brown sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
5 tbsp melted butter
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Cream layer
-----------
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 whole large banana
Filling
-------
1 3/4 cups milk
0.9 oz box instant banana pudding
Topping
---------------------
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
8 Nilla wafers
Directions

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Chop Nilla wafers into fine crumbs using food pocessor
- Add granulated and brown sugar to crumbs in food processor and mix again
- Transfer crumbs to a bowl and mix in melted butter
- Spread mixture into ungreased glass pie plate and form into crust with hands
- Mix egg and water to create an egg wash
- Brush egg wash across all surfaces of the crust
- Poke bottom of crust in multiple spots with a spoon
- Bake crust at 350 for 10 minutes or until egg wash has dried and is golden brown
- Cool crust completely (Important, otherwise it will fall apart when you add the cream layer)
- While the crust is cooling combine cream cheese and granulated sugar, mix well
- Spread mix across the bottom of the cooled crust
- Slice the banana into round discs and cover bottom of the pie with slices
- Whisk pudding mix and milk together in a bowl
- Immediately transfer pudding mix to pie
- Place pie in refrigerator for one hour to allow pudding to fully set
- Whisk (or use mixer with whisk attachment) together whipping cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until if forms a fairly firm whipped cream consistency
- Spread whipped cream across the top of the pie
- Lay vanilla wafers evenly around the outside of the top of the pie (on per piece if you cut it into 8ths)
