We're using nginx, as many others, so iipsrv package requiring apache or lighttpd is inconvinient. Could you remove them as required dependencies from the DEB packages? Or add nginx as an alternative. Same for firefox which is not required on a server. Thanks!

Yes, that's a good point. The Debian package (https://packages.debian.org/sid/iipimage-server) is in fact maintained by a Debian package maintainer. Maybe you could create a bug report there to suggest removing the dependencies?
