I think this is neat, but without anything else looks unintentional. Suggesting we either remove, or add something (e.g. a box-shadow around div.content? some kind of border? something else?) given how the white fades into white right now

This is intentional, meant to look like there's a page border. Whether it works in that way is another matter. I would agree, currently, that it doesn't because the header background is just slightly too light to notice this.
