outdated authentification warning #148
Comments
Hi @seydx, Is there any plans to update the authentication to Oauth2, as well as any other bug fixes? Regards, Paul |
I'm getting this error message which seems to be related: Error: Client request error: getaddrinfo EAI_AGAIN auth.tado.com Plugin no longer works for me. :-( |
Same |
For some reason (no changes from my side) it works again as intended. weird. but I'm glad. :-) |
Hi, Is this plugin ever going to be updated? I have found that when Homebridge v2 is released, the plugin will not work at all. Please can this be addressed or can anyone else take on this project so that it continues to work? Thanks, Paul |
I use my Tado products with Home Bridge. An email with the following content arrived in my inbox today:
We have registered outdated requests for house data in the tado° cloud from your account. It is unlikely that these requests are from the latest versions of the tado° apps or devices. If you have installed an open source or off-the-shelf home automation controller that is not listed on our smart home integration page, or if you are still using a very old version of the tado° app, please follow the instructions at the bottom of this email.
These special requests to our tado° servers work with an outdated and insecure form of authentication (technically speaking: Username and password are appended as query parameters to each request, e.g. https://my.tado.com/api/v2/me?username=myUsername&password=myPassword)
Please note that this outdated form of authentication will no longer work from 12 February 2024.
What do we ask you to do?
-If you are using smart home and building automation software that connects to the tado° cloud, please update it to the latest version or ask the software provider for a version that authenticates with tado° via Oauth2.
-If you have written your own software, you will find instructions on how to authenticate your requests correctly in this documentation.
What can I do?
Best Stefan
