"Downloading Update" and other notifications cover up the icons in a popped-out controller

Describe the bug
Toast notifications cover up bottom left icons of popped-out controller.

Expected behavior

• Being able to close a notification
• Notification not being in the wrong place
• Notifications disappearing on their own after a few seconds instead of persisting for so long
• Same notification not repeating itself (don't check for updates so often)
