Partial lakes not showing wave pattern

Trying to make multipart map in 1:4000, but there is a problem with some of the water areas (lakes and rivers). They are not created as wave pattern but just a blank spot in the map? what could be the cause? I tried 1:8000 scale and with the whole lake in the map it works as intended.
