Can we load data in index.html.md from a file outside of includes directory?

I am using rspec api documentation to have markdown syntax autogenerated. But this folder is outside of includes folder. Every time when I will generate markdown syntax using rspec api documentation, the new index.html.md file will be outside of includes folder. Is there a way that I can still use autogenerated markdown file in my slate's index.html.md without needing it to be moved in includes folder? Any help would be appreciated.
