I am Ali Malik and I am entering my senior year at Johns Hopkins University this fall. I am studying computer science and my plan is to enter into the field of software engineering and data science after graduation. I will be working as a Major League Hacking Fellow this summer, which involves contributing to open-source projects around GitHub. The pod I am working in involves working in Julia language on their various packages. I will be contributing to the Plots.jl and Images.jl packages by looking through issues on their repositories and adding ideas of my own to develop this functionality. I plan on spending my sponsorship on educational funds, either towards my college tuition or towards my university housing for the coming fall.
