Sometimes events are announced without a specific date. They usually (or always?) have a year, but not necessarily a month and day.

  • We would like to allow for dates that contain the date, but are not exact.
  • We would like a get some notification for such events so we can later re-visit them and check for exact date.

It might be enough to allow event_start and event_end to be just a year. eg. "2018"
