We need an explicit mapping between the currently accepted MIDS elements and Darwin Core archives, to enable calculation of MIDS scores. If we have this, we can start the discussion with GBIF, for instance, to potentially have this calculation implemented in their infrastructure. (gbif/pipelines#807)

A proposed JSON schema that describes this mapping (up to MIDS-2, as MIDS-3 is yet to be discussed in detail) can be found here and some explanation as to how this schema is structured can be found here.

Proposed SSSOM mapping approach based on the latest implementation (i.e. dating from last year) used for the MIDSCalculator tool. Note that that schema is not fully up to date anymore with the most recent MIDS developments.

I used the object_match_field property to try and capture the more complex conditional mapping.
