Hi! I'm pretty new to Furnace. I am still learning about it as I go, but have already been able to make decent use of it. Thanks to all who have put in the effort to make the program what it is!
I'm working with a friend on something that is sourcing music from VGM data. We have the Genesis stack (OPN2 and PSG) in our VGM files, and samples are currently being played through the DAC. I want to open up channel 6 for FM and add a generic sample-based sound source (chip doesn't matter, as long as it plays samples). Moreover, I'd like to have multiple sample channels to account for the possibility I may need two different samples playing at the same time. It must make use of the 0x95 VGM command (start fast stream) for exports. From what I have seen, only the OPN2's DAC actually supports 0x95 in exports from Furnace.
If this isn't correct:
Please guide me to a sample-based chip that will use 0x95 that isn't the OPN2.
If I am correct:
Is there a chance of getting this support added to Furnace in the near future?
If I decide to add support myself in the event it isn't otherwise added, can you provide me with guidance on what files will need to be updated?
