Willemstad X v0.1.0 Refshaleøen

New features and improvements (since last major update, v0.0.3)

  • New colour palette — Willemstad-style Nord theme added (both light and dark mode)
  • Added support and options for writing cssclass and Longform plugin, courtesy of Chris (keeping Willemstad roughly in line with Shimmering Focus)
  • Significant improvements to tables (alternate row highlighting, table header background-colour choices, font size controls, min/max-width options, zero-padding options for those needing more space)
  • New serif font embedded (Crimson Pro) particularly for writing and Longform improvements.
  • Added Willemstad version numbers to titlebar (can be switched off via Style Settings) and Community Theme store for easier debugging
  • Major fixes for searchboxes — should be wholly responsive based on modal width changes without being too large/small at any size
  • Multiple new, smaller quality-of-life improvements (styling for Command Palette; new Style Settings options — bold for certain options a la Shimmering Focus, modal heights etc.)
  • Other bug fixes

New plugin support

  • Settings Search
  • Longform

Why Refshaleøen?

Refshaleøen is a former industrial area in Copenhagen, Denmark, which I had the honour of visiting on the 13–15 of February. The name is quite fitting for a theme which still is rough at the edges but coming together, like Refshaleøen is.

I was in Refshaleøen on the 15th and had the good fortune of bumping into a museum called the Copenhagen Contemporary there, which was having an exhibition called "Light and Space", named after the art movement that grew out Southern California in the 1960s/1970s. While I would never be able to play with light and space and colour like the greats such as James Turrell or Eric Orr can/have/did, I hope my interpretation of the Nord colours in the new Nord colour palette brings about a positive effect to someone like how the works of the members belonging to the Light and Space movement did for me.
