I think the Rancher backend has accidentally been left uncommented in the sample conf.

It will result in errors like:

ERRO[2017-04-18T14:57:55+10:00] Failed to create a client for rancher, error: Get : unsupported protocol scheme ""
ERRO[2017-04-18T14:57:55+10:00] Rancher connection error Get : unsupported protocol scheme "", retrying in 475.872903ms
