I am having no issues with ivy-posframe when I launch it from a regular Emacs GUI. But when I am running from an emacsclient GUI frame, it looks like the point is getting placed at (0,0) when the frame pops up.
Since this part of the buffer is read-only - I'm unable to type anything into that ivy buffer.
I was looking at the readme for posframe - which mentioned setting posframe-mouse-banish to nil. That isn't resolving the issue for me though.
I'm newish to elisp and am still investigating, but I figured I'd ask here.
If this is relevant - I am on OSX, and am running emacs 27 NS build from GNU emacs HEAD. I am also using evil mode, which might be affecting things.
Thanks!

Ping?
Please tell us more information; some screenshot or reproduce steps in emacs -q.
And please test on Emacs-26.3. Emacs 27 is not a stable version.
