Hello, I thought about the Timeline and found its wasting quite a lot of space. At the moment it is so that a toot shows all options, like in the Mastodon web app.

Instead, there could be an option to change the default timeline view. Hide the arrow bar and move the 3 dots menue under the time indication.
For me, I don't need to see the interaction buttons every time. Besides, #460 could be done with it.

There is also a boosted toot inside the timeline! I think it's a better visibility for boosted content when it's marked as boosted at the bottom. But that's only my opinion.

To fast interact with toots, @[email protected] had the cool idea to build some kind of swipe actions. Like in the outlook app (I never used it, but my mail app uses similar actions). This could be integrated in a configurable way. E.g. left swipe fav - right swipe boost more right swipe fav & boost.

To interact more with a specific toot just press the three dots menue or touch the toot itself. This could be done with a hovering(?) card/tile (I don't know what it's named). #134 could be build in.

I hope I was able to clarify my ideas. And don't be jealous of my incredible GIMP skills. 😉
Thanks for your great work!

Hey
I'm not sure what @connyduck thinks about the alternative design but I think that's quite some maintenance burden and it may be better served by other clients which set customization as one of their goals. I'm not sure it's our goal though.
About swipe actioons: they don't fit into our current navigation with tabs, we would need to re-think navigation first. Do you have any ideas about that?

I think it would look better by just removing all of the buttons including the three-dot. To interact to the toot, just tap and get into it.

This might be much easier to implement?
