I am in the process of applying for Typelevel to participate as a mentor organization in Google Summer of Code 2024. I will serve as the primary org administrator.

Current status:

Your organization has been created and you are the first organization administrator!

  • Invite at least one more organization administrator (thank you Andrew! if anyone else wants to admin let me know :)
  • Complete your Organization Profile
  • Complete the Organization Questionnaire
  • Finally, submit the Program Application for your org to participate in a Google Summer of Code program
  • setup [email protected]

Can someone with google permissions create a new google group for [email protected] that is only visible to approved mentors?
Similar to the setup for the steering group.

We will use this email as a point of contact for potential contributors.

  • I created [email protected], and made Andrew an owner for further configuration. I'll leave once I confirm he has the wheel.
  • I created the [email protected] alias, but can't get the verification e-mail through on multiple attempts. The alias won't work without that.

The latter problem was the group didn't allow posting from the web. That might encourage spam and should probably be turned back off, but I leave that to the admins. The alias is confirmed and tested.

Update: unfortunately Typelevel was not accepted to GSoC as an independent organization. Fortunately, our mentors and projects will be able to participate in GSoC via the Scala Center org, which I'll be helping to admin.

I'm in the process of transitioning our stuff. The next step is to get up a blog post announcing our participation.
