Window size changes become glitchy on low resolution screen

My laptop screen resolution is quite low (1366 x 768) and when I try to maximize the player, the window simply does nothing and does not take up all the available space. When I restore the size, the window stays off the screen. This problem only occurs in low resolution, since connecting the computer to an external monitor with much better resolution, it doesn't happen.
It is a bit annoying since I am not always at home using the PC connected to the monitor.
I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.
